Pondering Change

Two months? Really?

I know I’ve been preoccupied. My kitchen has been under renovation, and it’s not easy to sit at the laptop while guys are sawing and pounding and creating all kinds of dust. Hell, I couldn’t even think straight during that phase.  (I know, what’s the difference?) Now, though, that part is mostly done and I’m just waiting for the installations of a light fixture and the tile backsplash, and the paint job. (Speaking of that, I can’t believe the small fortune I have to lay out to get the room painted! I usually do that myself, but since everything’s brand new, I don’t want to be responsible for spilled paint or other Nat messes!)

I’m considering mixing in some posts about other things, such as cooking or product reviews or things like that. There just hasn’t been enough newish music that I’ve loved lately and, to be honest, I’m still afraid of the music police. I don’t know for certain, but something tells me that the reason the Contrast Podcast lost its web host was due to a DCMA takedown.  Really, since there are spoken intros that overlap the songs, I don’t see what the problem is. Most labels have no problem with that at all.

So, I’m thinking about options.

Just so you don’t think I’d forgotten you.

Actually I believe what happened was that he was using too much of his “unlimited” bandwidth. I was talking with him about it earlier.

But i feel like a blog should be about what you want to talk about, you know? And it’s your voice that we love to read, so it could be about anything!

Oh, ok. Good. Well, not really good, because we’re without a podcast, no matter what. At least it’s due to popularity, not simply a matter of a takedown.

So, thanks for your supportive words, James, and we’ll see what I can come up with for blogging.

I love hearing about all of the things you talk about on FB, so expansion of that stuff onto your blog would be fun and most welcome!!

Just to clarify, it’s the archives that are gone. We also discussed his plan to keep the podcast coming while he finds a new place to host the old episodes! Nothing can stop the power of the cp nation!!

Write about the tile backsplash. That’s always good for a few stories. You know that’s true.

As before, you’ve been missed, Nat, so it’s good to see you back in print. And as others have said, write about whatever you like. . .or don’t like; you’re a great read. As for music, I’ve been enjoying hanging out at Rock and Roll Tribe, a site for, as they euphemistically put it, “veteran rockers.” http://rockandrolltribe.com Love to see you enlist.
