Here’s What’s New This Week

In the time I skipped out on blogging, new release day jumped from Tuesdays to Fridays. Poor Tuesday has nothing cool about it any longer, unless you happen to be a Flash fan. No fair that Friday gets the love when it’s already, duh,  FRIDAY.

So, here’s what’s new to indulge in the week of 26 Feb 2016.

Pick of the week:

Sarah Neufeld – The Ridge, Paper Bag Records – The violinist from The Arcade Fire with her second solo release. Opening cut, “The Ridge,” is ethereal.

Yuck – Stranger Things

Colors – Ivory – Victory Records – Big sounds from a two-man band.

Quilt – Plaza – Mexican Summer Records – This is their third album, but they are new to me! I like the folky synth pop sound.

School of Seven Bells – SVIIB – The final album, since Benjamin Curtis, half of the two-piece outfit, passed away in December of 2013.  Listen to the entire album at NPR.

Various Artists – George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison – Including Spoon, Brian Wilson, Heartless Bastards, The Flaming Lips.

The Rest:

The 1975 – I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It
The Rocket Summer – Zoetic

That’s it for this week. Love and kisses, kids.
