New Music Friday

Yes, there’s new stuff this week, so don’t say you didn’t know.

Pick of the Week:

Pete Yorn – Arranging Time  Capitol/Virgin EMI Records.  It’s been six years since Yorn released his last album, so this is long overdue.

Palehound – Dry Food Exploding In Sound Records. This was actually released in Oct 2015, but it’s in the new release section today, so I’m including it. Palehound is actually singer/songwriter Ellie Kempner.

Kind of Sleater-Kinney-ish, but that is a plus.

Emmy the Great – Second Love Bella Union Records.

First song I’ve heard with Algorithm in the title.

Jeff Buckley – You and I Columbia Legacy.  Recorded in Feb 1993 after signing with Columbia Records, and he covers some great songs, including Dylan’s “Just Like A Woman.” Here, he covers The Smiths and I want to cry because of the beauty.

The Rest:

Jeremy Gara – Limn

Brian Fallon – Painkillers

Into It. Over It. – Standards

Holy Wave – Freaks of Nurture

Enjoy your week!

Love and kisses.
